12 families ring in 2024 with New Year babies

2024 signalled the start of a joyful New Year for 12 families as they welcomed their new arrivals at Watford General Hospital.
Six families had a special ending to 2023 as they celebrated the safe arrival of their New Year’s eve babies. The following day, another six families rang in the start of 2024, with the delivery of their new babies.
Among the babies born over New Year included four babies whose families are based in Watford.
Arriving at 9.45am on New Year’s Eve was baby girl Stefania Amariei weighing 3,240g. Baby boy Willson followed shortly after, born at 1.39pm and weighing 3,665g. Baby girl Gopal was born at 9.59pm, weighing 2,159g.
New Year's day brought a special start to the year for the family of baby girl Nadarajah, who was born at 5.57am, weighing 3,300g.
Mitra Bakhtiari, director of midwifery, said: "Thank you to everyone who made the start of 2024 a special one for so many families.
“Our maternity team work hard all year round to ensure our babies and their families receive the best possible care, and the New Year is no different. Congratulations to all the families ringing in the New Year with a new addition to their family.”
