Our Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre at Watford General Hospital offers people affected by cancer support and information.

Whether you’re a patient, family member, friend, or carer, we’re here to support you.

We can provide cancer information, emotional support, and practical information about all aspects of cancer.

If you have any questions or need someone to listen, please get in touch either drop in for a face-face or call us.

The Centre is staffed by our Macmillan Information Support Manager and our team of trained volunteers.


Contact details, location and opening hours

You can find us opposite the main reception in the Main building at Watford General Hospital.

We're open Monday to Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm.


What we provide

  • A wide range of up to date, good quality information booklets, leaflets, audio materials about cancer types, in English and other languages as well as access to cancer-related information online.
  • Whatever you need to talk about, from coping with emotions, to talking to children or those close to you, we’re here to help.
  • Information about diet, nutrition, exercise, or worries about work.
  • Advice and referrals to a range of local and national services.
  • Information about help with the costs of cancer including advice on grants and referral to a benefits service.
  • Information for carers and those supporting someone with cancer
  • Wellbeing workshops, courses, support groups to cope with impact of your diagnosis and living with and beyond.
  • Confidential 1:1 
  • A safe space

Patient support groups

  • Lung cancer support group - First Tuesday of every month, 2-4pm at the Stanborough Centre, 609 St Albans Road, Watford, WD25 9JL.
  • Croxley cancer support group - First Thursday of the month, 2-4pm at All-Saints Church, Croxley.
