There’s a real buzz around Watford General as we prepare the site for our new hospital.
Cranes, diggers, contractors in hi-vis jackets and hard hats, are all tangible signs of progress, as work continues to prepare the site for the new hospital.
Last week we began the process of removing the old Granger Suite with the help of a gigantic crane. Over three weeks, nearly 80 cabins will be lifted and loaded onto lorries to be restored and reused elsewhere.
Our local MP Matt Turmaine (pictured) visited us last week to see the progress first hand.
As well as the removal of the Granger Suite, the £12m programme of enabling works will also include the installation of new oxygen supply systems for the site, the demolition of old buildings, and undertaking surveys and physical ground investigations over the next 18 months.
