Stand down of incident in Women’s and Children’s building, Watford General Hospital

Police and fire emergency responders have formally stood down the incident which occurred in the Women’s and Children’s building at Watford General Hospital today.

We apologise to all our patients and visitors for any disruption they have experienced today. Our midwifery, maternity, paediatric and ophthalmology services are running as usual.

We would like to sincerely thank Herts Constabulary and Herts Fire and Rescue Service for their prompt actions which supported our response.

Thanks also to all our teams including the emergency department, midwifery, paediatrics, ophthalmology, surgery and environment division who supported our services during the incident.
