Launching our new clinical strategyWest Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (WHTH) is proud to announce the launch of its new Clinical Strategy, setting out how we will organise and deliver clinical services over the next five years.

The new Clinical Strategy builds on the overarching Trust strategy to respond to changing patient expectations, future demand, and the opportunities presented by our forthcoming hospital developments. It provides a clear framework for designing services that are safe, high-quality, timely, and sustainable while working closely with partners to co-create care models that meet the needs of the local population.

Preparing for the future
The Trust’s redevelopment plans represent a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform care. Success depends on changing how we work now so we can make the most of state-of-the-art facilities, smart technology, and improved diagnostics. The Clinical Strategy sets the direction for this transformation, ensuring the estate is the right size and services are designed for the future.

A collaborative approach
The Clinical Strategy is the result of extensive engagement with clinicians, managers, and patient representatives. It draws on 32 specialty submissions and multiple workshops, ensuring that the voices of those who deliver and receive care are at the heart of the plans. This collective approach will help deliver care that is seamless, compassionate, and focused on what matters most to patients.
