Wards
Starfish Ward
The purpose of the Children's Ward at Watford is to provide children and
young people in West Hertfordshire overnight hospital care in an appropriate
environment.

Safari Day Unit
The purpose of the Children's Day Unit at Watford is to provide children and young people in West Hertfordshire planned hospital care in an appropriate environment, which does not require an overnight stay. The type of care provided includes:
- Day surgery
- Treatment for chronic conditions such as chemotherapy
- Endoscopies
- Sweat tests & allergy tests
- Administration of intravenous antibiotics.
Children's Outpatient Services
The aim of the Outpatient service is to offer children in West Hertfordshire a high quality outpatient service in a child friendly environment. The service is open to any child whose referral is accepted, and we see all children within thirteen weeks of referral. Parents / Carers will be given as much choice as possible about the date and time of their child’s appointment. Patients will be seen in order of referral, unless there is a clinical need to see them earlier.

Children's Emergency Department - WATFORD
The Children's Emergency Department is a dedicated unit just for children, where they can be assessed and treated in a safe and friendly environment. The unit is managed and run by a team of emergency doctors and children’s doctors & nurses working in partnership, to provide the very best care for your child.
