What information do we collect about you?

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust provides acute healthcare services to a core catchment population of approximately half a million people living in west Hertfordshire and the surrounding area. We also want to provide our audience with the latest news and information about the service we offer across the trust.

Such services include bulletins, email updates, newsletters, event invites and website feedback. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you use the service you have requested, and remove it in the event that the purpose has been met or when you no longer wish to continue your subscription.

How will we use the information about you?

We collect information about you to email you about news and services we think may be of interest to you.

You can subscribe either via our website, sending us an email or by completing one of our sign-up forms at one of our stakeholder events we hold from time to time.

We will not share your information with organisations outside of West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Categories of personal data

We only require you to provide us with your name and email address so that we can send you our newsletter and updates about our services. Information regarding your gender, age, ethnicity and religion is collected so that we can ensure that our patient involvement groups are representative of the population we serve. We may also use it to send you targeted information or news.

Receiving communications from the trust

We would like to send you information about news and services of ours and other organisations which may be of interest to you. If you have consented to receive these emails you may opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email.

When you sign up to our mailing lists, we do not pass your email address to any third parties. We also do not sign you up to our other mailing lists, only the groups you have chosen to subscribe to.

Access to your information and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email or write to us at the address below.

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct.

Recipients of personal data

The information you provide as a member of one of our patient involvement groups is never shared outside of West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

How to withdraw your consent

To be removed from our list email westherts.communications@nhs.net and ask to ‘unsubscribe’ from all contact with the trust.
