Biography
Dr Kostoula graduated from Medical School with Merit and went on to complete her postgraduate Core Medical Training in the East of England Deanery, whose lead provider is Cambridge. She subsequently undertook Higher Specialty Training in Diabetes and Endocrinology, attaining dual accreditation in General Internal Medicine, within the prestigious Northwest Thames programme of the London Deanery. During her training, she worked across the leading Imperial College Healthcare hospitals - Hammersmith, Charing Cross and St Mary’s - renowned for their academic excellence and tertiary endocrine services.
Since 2019, Dr Kostoula has been a Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetologist at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals.
Her clinical practice includes the General Endocrine Clinic, Community Diabetes Clinic, Young Adult Diabetes Clinic, Adolescent Diabetes Transition Clinic, and the Antenatal Endocrine Clinic. She has a particular interest in endocrine disorders in pregnancy and the management of diabetes in young adults.
Dr Kostoula has held several leadership roles, including Lead for the Young Adult Diabetes Service, Education Lead for Diabetes and Endocrinology, and Departmental Rota Lead.
She has authored multiple peer‑reviewed publications and has presented her work at national and international conferences. She is an active member of several professional bodies within her specialty.
A committed educator, Dr Kostoula teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is a certified Clinical and Educational Supervisor for doctors in training across all grades.
