The ‘Living Well with and Beyond Cancer’ event is aiming to provide an opportunity for people to talk about their experiences, find out more on the support services available and to meet with the Cancer Nursing Team.

There will be information stands from various services such as Age UK, Carers in Hertfordshire, and Boots Macmillan Beauty Advisors where advice will be available on physical activity, diet and nutrition and local hospice services. Complementary therapy taster sessions will be on offer alongside the opportunity to have a mini make over from a Boots No.7 Consultant.

Michelle Sorley, Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse from West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust said: "The event aims to provide access to wellbeing advice and support for local people and their carers who are living with or beyond a cancer diagnosis. It is important that people with cancer feel comfortable enough to talk to someone about their condition and to also meet with other people in a similar situation.

"Previous events have gone down really well and have been thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. Feedback stated that people thought that it was useful event to gain information, knowledge and support and to meet others in similar a situation.

A host of local cancer support organisations will be on hand to offer personalised wellbeing guidance and support. We hope this will be an enjoyable and informative event for all involved."
