There is a comprehensive Radiology department on all three-hospital sites providing their core services from a central area operating during normal working hours.

Out of hour support to the Urgent Care Centre is also provided.

The Acute Admissions Unit opened at Watford in March 2009. It comprises 3 levels, accommodating 120 beds and a diagnostic centre on Level 2. There is a 64-slice GE Lightspeed CT scanner and a GE Logiq Ultrasound machine in the Radiology department on Level 2.
The AAU Radiology department is staffed by Consultant Radiologists between 08:00 – 20:00, Monday to Friday and 09:00 – 13:00 Saturday and Sunday.
The Accident and Emergency department at Watford General Hospital has diagnostic facilities sited conveniently allowing easy access for patients. There is 24-hour on-call cover for provision of diagnostic tests at Watford General Hospital.
A GP direct access service is also provided from the three trust sites.
