West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly McGovern as its new chief nurse. Kelly, who is currently the deputy chief nurse and director of nursing for the Broomfield site at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSE), will assume her new role on 24 July.

With a nursing career spanning back to 2005, Kelly has acquired a wealth of clinical leadership experience and has held prominent nursing leadership positions as well as operational roles. In addition to her director of nursing role, she is also urgent and emergency care clinical director at MSE.

Her professional journey includes notable tenures at The Royal Marsden, and East and North Herts NHS Trust before joining the Mid and South Essex Trust, one of the largest acute trusts in the country.

As a resident of the local community, Kelly is enthusiastic about contributing to the healthcare system in Hertfordshire and west Essex. She is eager to enhance the quality improvement journey at West Herts and bring added value to the trust.
