NHS managers tasked with leading a transformation of hospital services and facilities in west Hertfordshire have repeated their call for local people to get involved.

West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust (WHHT) and Herts Valleys CCG (HVCCG) want to hear from anyone who is interested in shaping the future of their healthcare and have extended a deadline to allow more people to join a ‘redevelopment reference group’.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement last September that WHHT is in the first wave of the new ‘Hospital Infrastructure Programme’, plans are moving, with the aim of new hospital buildings opening in 2025.

Engagement with the local community is vital so that feedback can be used as we move to the next phase – the ‘outline business case’ (OBC).

How you can have your say

There are a variety of ways in which you can give your views and ask question. These include signing up for updates or joining a newly formed reference group - a public panel that will help to inform decision-making. Reference group members will be invited to look at certain topics in more detail such as working with us on the redesign of specific services. Over the coming months our engagement activities will be largely online due to restrictions on public gatherings.

If you want to be find out more about the reference group, please visit this website where there is a form for you to express an interest in joining.  You can register to join the reference group at any time but if you want to be part of the first engagement exercise you should send in your expression of interest to wwestherts.redevelopment@nhs.net by Tuesday 9 June (midnight).
