West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust has launched a competitively priced physiotherapy service for private patients at the West Hertfordshire Therapy Unit in Abbots Langley.

The service will be provided by the trust's highly skilled staff who will provide top to toe specialist treatment including women’s health, muscular treatments and care for sports injuries.

The unit has a well-equipped gym and space to run group sessions where patients can benefit from Pilates and other group classes. There are also clinic rooms for private consultations and treatment which include sports massage and acupuncture.

The service will offer short waiting times and flexibility for patients who can make direct bookings to access a range of physiotherapy treatments but private appointments will not be prioritised over NHS patients. Private physiotherapy is open to anyone who wishes to pay for their treatment or to those whose care is covered by their insurers.

Smita Ganatra, acute therapy services manager said: "We’re very excited to be launching private physiotherapy for local people at competitive prices. There will be an impressive range of treatment choices and flexible access to our highly skilled staff. Great physiotherapy is life-changing. It can be the finishing touch to a long recovery or provide the support to make everyday tasks achievable and pain-free."

The new service will generate valuable income that will be invested back into the trust, helping to improve services for everyone’s benefit.
