Both a woman/pregnant person and partner can attend scans
Visiting will be permitted from 10am-8pm each day on Katherine Ward (children and siblings are allowed to visit from 3.30pm - 6.30pm only)
Two birthing partners can be with a woman/pregnant person during labour
One named birthing partner may attend with the woman/pregnant person for an elective Caesarean Section
One named birthing partner may attend during the woman/pregnant person’s admission in Triage for early labour assessment
Two birthing partners can stay with the mother throughout active labour
One birthing partner can stay with the mother in Maternity recovery
The nominated visitors to the postnatal ward should be the same two people as the named birth partners.
To comply with local and national infection control policies and to ensure the safety of everyone present, partners/companion will need to adhere to the following:
Any partners who are COVID-19 positive are not able to attend the hospital
Any partner/companion showing any symptoms of COVID-19 should not visit the
hospital site
Face masks must be worn for all hospital appointments or visiting unless you are exempt
Please note
Children are not allowed to attend any appointments either in the hospital
or community setting in maternity at this current time
If a woman requires an assisted delivery or transfer to maternity theatres only one named birthing partner can be present due to limited space in delivery and maternity recovery rooms
