A Covid-19 operational delivery manager and vaccination lead at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has been recognised for the compassion and dynamic leadership she demonstrated throughout the pandemic.

Charlotte Coles was presented with a ‘Here For You’ heroes award by the trust’s chief nurse Tracey Carter. Here for You (the mental health and wellbeing service for health and social care staff across Herts and Essex) recognises and rewards those staff who have gone above and beyond in their work supporting their colleagues throughout the pandemic. Tracey said: “Charlotte’s leadership has driven her team to give their best performance through the hardest time in our careers. She has been a motivating force for many, and her commitment has been recognised by everyone at West Herts.”

Sara Crean-muir, Here For You project lead, nominated Charlotte for the award and said: “Charlotte has demonstrated true qualities of compassion and dynamic leadership in action, being a strong advocate to her team members while delivering an integral service. Thank you Charlotte for your service in recognising the importance of psychological health in your teams. You have made a real difference."

Helen Hardy, regional head of mental health, NHS England and NHS Improvement (East of England), said: “It is fantastic to hear of the commitment and dedication of Here for You staff and other colleagues who have been going above and beyond in supporting the wellbeing and psychological needs of the workforce during these difficult past few years. It is humbling to read of the compassion and positive energy Charlotte brings to her role and to the teams and individuals she is supporting. Well done.”
