Consultant microbiologist from local NHS trust to receive prestigious award

Prema Singh, a consultant microbiologist at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS
Trust, is set to receive a prestigious award, in recognition for the significant
contribution she has made to microbiology.
The award, known as the ‘RCPath excellence award’, will be presented at a
ceremony at the Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath) at the annual council
dinner on 12 June in London and will be presented by Professor Jo Martin, the
Royal College President amidst distinguished guests.
Dr Singh’s work has been on developing and maintaining high standards in all
matters relevant to the practice of microbiology and in promoting excellence in
training and education to deliver the best patient care in the field of
diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infection in line with the Royal College
of Pathologists strategy.
Dr Prema Singh, consultant microbiologist at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS
Trust, said:
“This is fantastic and I am absolutely thrilled and I feel extremely honoured to
receive this award. This has to be one of the proudest moments in my career. I
feel very privileged to be doing what I do and to have worked with a fabulous
team locally and nationally in making best patient care our focus.”
