Do you still need your appointment?
We don’t want you to wait longer than necessary for an appointment so we’re checking to make sure those who are waiting for certain appointments still need them.
How are we checking appointment lists?
We will send you a text message from ‘WestHerts’ with a link inviting you to log on to the Patient Portal. You will then be asked to complete a short questionnaire about your appointment.
How do I respond?
The first step is to click on the link in the text to access the questionnaire on our Patient Portal, then select ‘forms’ from the main dashboard.
You will need your username and password to access the Patient Portal.

I haven’t received a text message?
We are only contacting certain groups of patients who have been waiting for appointments for at least 12 weeks so if you have not been contacted, please do not be concerned.
What if I don’t have a smart phone or a computer?
If you do not have a smart phone or computer and you wish to be removed from the waiting list, you can telephone the NHS e-Referral Service line.
Call 0345 608 8888. The line is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm; on weekends and bank holidays open from 8am to 4pm.
Will my GP be informed if I am removed from the waiting list?
We will let your GP know that you have been removed from the waiting list for any service you are discharged from.
