The services we offer

We offer a comprehensive urological service across our hospital sites. Specific examples are as follows:

  • Lithotripsy for kidney stones at St Albans City Hospital
  • Daycase and inpatient urological surgery at Watford General and St Albans City Hospital
  • Paediatric urology (children's wards, paediatric anaesthetists) – Watford General Hospital
  • Female urology services at Watford General Hospital
  • Prostate cancer diagnostic clinics (including same day “TRUS” biopsy) – twice weekly at St Albans City Hospital
  • One stop haematuria clinics (including kidney CT and ultrasound), flexible cystoscopy and stent removal – weekly at Hemel Hempstead Hospital
  • Urodynamics services – Watford General Hospital (requires a full bladder!)
  • Interventional radiology services including nephrostomy, antegrade stents – Watford General Hospital
  • Diagnostic radiology – across all hospital sites and MRI at Spire Bushey
  • On the Acute Site (Watford General Hospital) urgent + emergency Urology patients are seen in AAU and A&E Departments. 
  • We are linked to the Lister Hospital where some operations for cancer take place.
