Thoracic Medicine has two main offices. One is situated at Hemel Hempstead Hospital (Verulam Wing), and the other is at Watford General Hospital.

The Department of Thoracic Medicine provides services for a full range of respiratory disorders. These include airways disease (asthma/COPD), lung cancer, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis/bronchial sepsis, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary thromboembolic disease, sleep disorders and respiratory failure/neuromuscular respiratory disorders.

Referrals are received directly from GPs. We also receive referrals by the Choose and Book systems. All of the Consultants are happy to speak directly with GPs over the telephone to discuss specific cases.
