Help with online booking

GP requested blood tests

If your GP surgery has asked you to have a blood test, you must bring the blood test request form so that our staff know which tests have been requested. We can’t get the information we need from a mobile screen, so please bring the paper form so we can proceed with the test. On arrival, you can check in using our kiosk.

Babies and children up to the age of 17

Our hospitals at Hemel Hempstead Hospital, St Albans City Hospital and Watford General Hospital can see children aged from 5-17. Book a blood test appointment using the links above.

Children under five years-old can only be seen at the Peace Children’s Centre in Watford. They can also see children up to the age of 12. Register and book a blood test appointment at Peace Children’s Centre.

Haematology and anticoagulation patients

Haematology and anticoagulation patients do not need to book online as they will continue to receive clinic appointment letters.

Virtual hospital and telephone appointment patients

Patients who have had an appointment with our virtual hospital, or over the telephone with a consultant, do not need to attend the hospital with a blood form, or book an appointment online.

Glucose Tolerance Tests (GTT)

Glucose Tolerance Tests (GTT) are only taken at Hemel Hempstead Hospital on Thursday mornings. Appointments to be booked by telephone only. Contact details are on the referral form.
