West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust aims to provide high quality, patient-focused healthcare for its population, by seeking to ensure appropriate standards of professional competence, clinically effective treatments, and safety in the provision of its services.

We continue to work towards the many challenging goals set out in the NHS Plan. Last year we treated around 300,000 patients. More than 25,000 of these were treated as day cases.

Reducing the time patients have to wait to see a specialist, and if needed have an operation, is a top priority and we are very pleased to report that last year we reached important milestones in meeting the the Plan's waiting list targets.
