Background
Professional profile
Mr Tim Waters is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in hips and knees. He received specialist orthopaedic training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore and subsequently spent a year in Australia on the prestigious Sydney Hip and Knee Surgeons’ international fellowship.
He was appointed Consultant at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2008 and was Clinical Director for Trauma and Orthopaedics from 2014-2017. His practice focuses on complex orthopaedic surgery. He receives referrals from colleagues and consultants from other hospitals for the management of difficult cases, particularly problems with previous hip and knee replacement surgery. He has been awarded seven clinical excellence awards.
His sub-speciality interests include knee and hip replacement, complex & revision joint replacements, partial knee replacement, arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), ligament reconstruction, CORI™(CT-free, robotic-assisted surgery) and patient-specific knee surgery. He is regularly invited to international meetings to teach and talk about his surgical experience.
Mr Waters takes a holistic approach to his practice and ensures he takes the time to explain things clearly in easy-to-understand terms and allows plenty of time for patients to ask questions and discuss concerns. This allows patients to make the best treatment decisions possible.
The little free time he has, is spent with his family, travelling, keeping fit, cooking, collecting guitars & playing music.
