Mr. Rudge is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon whose clinical practice is dedicated to treating patients with Foot and Ankle problems.
Mr. Rudge qualified from St. George's Hospital Medical School in 1999. He spent a year working in Perth, Western Australia before returning to a basic surgical training in London. He then undertook his specialist orthopaedic training on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital rotation and also underwent a UK advanced training fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery. He subsequently gained further experience in the management of complex lower limb trauma at the Royal London Hospital. Mr. Rudge was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 2012.
Mr. Rudge's main surgical interest is in the treatment of all aspects of foot and ankle pathology. He offers a full range of surgical treatments for conditions such as Hallux Valgus / Hallux Rigidus and lesser toe deformities. He also treats degenerative foot and ankle conditions including arthritis of the midfoot and hindfoot alongside degenerative tendon conditions such as Tibialis Posterior tendinopathy.
He offers various treatments for sports injuries including lateral ligament reconstruction and ankle arthroscopy. He also works alongside orthotists and physiotherapists to offer a multidisciplinary approach to the conservative treatment of foot and ankle conditions.
Mr Rudge ensures that he takes the time to explain things clearly and logically enabling patients to make informed decisions about their treatment.
Clinics are held at Watford General and Hemel Hempstead Hospitals, and Mr. Rudge operates in Watford General Hospital and St. Albans City Hospital.
Personal profile
In his spare time Mr.Rudge relaxes with his young family. He is a keen, classically trained musician and is now an avid builder and collector of guitars. He continues to enjoy supporting rugby and cricket.
