Professional profile
Mr Balaji read medicine at the University of Southampton and completed a BSc in Biomedical Sciences with first class honours. He completed his basic surgical training in Cambridge before entering higher surgical training on the Percivall Pott rotation in London. He completed his specialist spinal training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore (RNOH) and Great Ormond Street Hospital in combined degenerative and deformity fellowships. In 2014, he was appointed as a consultant spinal surgeon at the West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Mr Balaji's work as a spinal surgeon involves all areas of treatment of the degenerative spine, with an interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Mr Balaji has published several scientific papers and has presented his work in both national and international meetings in the field of spinal surgery.
