About St Albans City Hospital
Integrated Urgent Care Hub – Open 9am to 6pm every day (APPOINTMENT ONLY – NOT A WALK IN SERVICE)
The Integrated Urgent Care Hub treats urgent but not life-threatening health conditions. It offers appointments between 9am and 6pm, seven days a week and provides access to diagnostic services such as x-rays. Patients are booked into the service, often with same day appointments, through NHS 111 or their GP practice. It is not a walk-in service. St Albans City Hospital is the Trust's elective care centre. It provides a wide range of elective care (both inpatient low risk surgery and day-case) and a wide range of outpatient and diagnostic services with in excess of 100,000 outpatient appointments. It has around forty beds and six theatres (including one procedure room for ophthalmology).
St Albans City Hospital is on Waverley Road, approximately a mile from the city centre.

Visiting a patient at St Albans City Hospital
Family members, carers and friends can visit adult inpatients between 8am and 10pm, seven days a week, with a maximum of two visitors at a time. Please contact wards directly for details of protected meal times.

Infopoint help points are free telephone kiosks which allow the user to make free calls for a taxi, travel information, general health advice, the Trust switchboard and Patient Advice and Liaison (PALS).
