Professional Profile
I initially qualified in Cape Town, South Africa, and then specialised in internal medicine at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa. I immigrated to the UK in 1995 to specialise in cardiology. I am a consultant cardiologist, and was appointed Medical Director of WHHT in 2013.
I am involved in all aspects of cardiology, including acute coronary syndromes, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, etc.
My Medical Director commitments are clearly focused on patient safety, clinical and corporate governance, and ensuring the best possible care for our patients.
Personal Profile
I am married, and have two daughters. I am an avid fly-fisherman (salmon, trout and saltwater), and enjoy rugby and rowing. My hobbies include computers, wine collection, hydroponics, and gourmet cooking.
