Professional Profile:
Dr Khan studied medicine at Christ's College Cambridge and then the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine. After qualifying in 1991 he worked in East Anglia and London before entering specialist training in Cardiology and General Medicine in North West London in 1996.
He worked as a specialist registrar at Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Northwick Park and St Mary’s Hospitals. During this period he spent three years working at Imperial College London as a full time research fellow, funded by the British Heart Foundation, studying blood flow in coronary artery disease.
In the latter part of his training he gained sub-speciality accreditation in Interventional Cardiology i.e. angioplasty and stenting. He also has special interests in the investigation and treatment of palpitations, dizzy spells and high blood pressure.
Dr Khan was appointed Lead Consultant for Cardiology at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 2013
