Helen Moulder

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is delighted to confirm Heather Moulder has been appointed as a full non-executive director.

Her appointment as a full non-executive replaces Ginny Edwards who is stepping down on 5 January 2024 after nearly a decade with the Trust.

Heather said: "I’m really thrilled to be appointed as the Quality NED for the trust, and returning to where I started my clinical career, having trained and worked as a midwife at Watford General Hospital.

"The care we give patients and the ability for staff to raise concerns has been a driving force throughout my career and I look forward to working with the trust Board and everyone in the trust to build on the excellent work already happening."

Welcoming Heather to the role, Phil Townsend, Trust Chairman, said: "Heather brings a wealth of experience to the Board and I’m delighted she is taking on the full non-executive role.

"As a trained nurse, midwife and health visitor, Heather has an excellent clinical understanding of frontline services; and with 20 years’ experience on NHS boards she has already shown us the expertise and passion she brings into the boardroom.

"Heather takes the baton from Ginny as the Board’s lead on Freedom to Speak Up and as joint chair of the Quality and Safety Committee with Jonathan Rennison. I am certain Heather will build on the great work Ginny has done in both these roles."

Matthew Coats, Trust Chief Executive, added: "Heather is an excellent addition to the Board and I’m looking forward to working with her on developing the Freedom to Speak Up culture across the Trust and a patient safety culture through her work on the Quality and Safety Committee."

Heather has been working with us as an associate non-executive since August 2023; her appointment as a full voting NED starts in January and runs for an initial three-year term.
