Dr Sonia Narula, Consultant Radiologist

Qualifications: MBBS MD DNB FRCR

Dr Sonia Narula Dr Narula did her general radiology training at Hammersmith and North West London Hospitals, followed by a breast imaging fellowship at Northwick Park and Edgware Breast Screening Unit. She was appointed at West Herts NHS Trust as Consultant in Breast Imaging and General Radiology in January 2009, with additional breast screening sessions at the North London Breast Screening Unit. 

Dr Narula's aim is to develop a complete range of diagnostic services for screening and symptomatic breast diseases with special interest in stereotactic and MR-guided vacuum procedures. Her research interests include the role of breast MRI in pre-operative diagnosis of cancer and in the high-risk screening population. She also participates in the general radiology workload, including sessions at the Watford Acute Assessment Unit.



Dr Nina Breunung-Joshi, Consultant Radiologist

Picture of Dr Nina Breunung-Joshi, Consultant RadiologistDr Nina Breunung-Joshi qualified from Kings College London in 2007 and obtained her FRCR in 2014 after training in Radiology at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and a Breast fellowship at Northwick Park and North London Screening Unit.

In October 2016 she joined the West Hertfordshire Breast Unit team (symptomatic service) and Beds and Herts Screening Unit in Luton (National Breast Screening Unit). Her main interested are Breast Imaging and Intervention (aspiration, core biopsy and vacuum procedures) as well as General Radiology which she undertakes with on calls and AAU service at Watford Hospital.

In her spare time Dr Nina Breunung-Joshi enjoys spending time with her young family, pets, visiting her home country Germany and rollerskating.

Helen Shipley, Lead Mammographer

Qualifications: DCR(R)

Picture of Helen ShipleyHelen qualified as a radiographer from Merseyside School of Radiography in 1982. She worked at West Middlesex University Hospital and the Devonshire Hospital in London before joining Hemel Hempstead General Hospital in 1986.

After taking a break from radiography she returned to Hemel Hempstead in 1995. She studied for the Certificate in Mammography at the Battlebridge Hospital, London and the University of Hertfordshire, gaining the qualification in 2000.

Along with her colleague Alison Low, Helen is Lead Radiographer in Charge of Mammography for West Hertfordshire NHS Trust.
