Jan Layer - Surgical Appliance Officer
Jan has been working for the Trust for 14 years in the role of Surgical Appliance Officer and is the prime fitter for breast prosthesis across the hospital sites. She has completed a
variety of training courses and seminars in the fitting of breast forms, most recently in September 2010 at the German Head Office of one of the leading prosthesis manufacturers.
Based at Watford General Hospital she runs two clinics on a weekly basis there and two clinics a month at St.Albans.
Jan also measures and fits bras, surgical stockings and, as she originally trained and worked as a hairdresser for 8 years, is well equipped to advise and fit patients needing wigs.
