More about Adult Audiology

Adult Audiology Department

How to get an appointment

You can be referred into the service by your GP or by an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Consultant. Patients over 60 who fulfil the Direct Referral criteria can be referred directly to the department.

For existing hearing aid patients who require a reassessment of their hearing, you can self refer after 3-5 years by contacting the department. Patients under the age of 60 need to be referred to Ear Nose Throat (ENT) Department.

The WHHT Audiology Service aims to see all newly referred patients for diagnostic assessment within 6 weeks of referral. Any patient who would benefit from provision of digital hearing aid/s should expect to receive the aid/s within 18 weeks.

If you report a problem with your hearing aid, you would be seen as quickly as possible, hopefully within 7-14 days.
