Picture of the Main Block at Watford General HospitalThe Trust Board has confirmed that it is ruling out parking charges for blue badge holders at this current time. Our focus is on improving access for disabled patients and visitors. We have increased the number of spaces for disabled patients and visitors and are making sure that all car park users are aware of the wide range of concessions available to help with parking costs.

The trust is working on plans for a new multi-storey car park at Watford General Hospital with Watford Borough Council and Kier Properties as part of the Watford Riverwell development. This will significantly improve car parking for all hospital users.

Providing parking facilities is a cost to the trust, which is why in line with other NHS hospitals it imposes charges for parking. This revenue is used to support the costs for the land, the lighting and the administration of parking. Without this income stream, the trust would be forced to use funds that it would rather spend on patient care.

The trust's website will be updated to ensure that patients are aware of the full range of concessions available and we will notify you of the update on this page. Patients' appointment letters also contain details on parking concessions.
