Watford General Hospital is in Vicarage Road, next to Watford Football Club's ground but the main entrance for those driving to the site via Thomas Sawyer Way.

Buses stop regularly outside the hospital. To see which buses stop there, visit a website such as Google maps (other online map services are available) and search for Watford General Hospital. On the map that appears, use the zoom facility until you see small bus icons representing bus stops - see example image right .

Clicking on the bus icon on the map will show up to date information about buses serving that stop. Currently, buses serving Vicarage Road are the 10, 320, 520, W1 and the W21.

Need help with parking costs?

Car parking concessions are available across all three hospital sites for regular visitors. Frequent visitors (people attending more than once per day, or more than twice per week for up to four weeks) and active carers (people actively participating in the rehab/care of an inpatient) are able to purchase daily tickets for 6, or weekly tickets for 12. Long term users (people attending more than twice per week for more than four weeks) are able to purchase monthly tickets for £36.

You may also be able to claim a refund of reasonable travel costs under the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS) if you're referred to hospital for specialist NHS treatment or diagnostic tests by your doctor, dentist or another primary care health professional. Walking to Watford General Hospital

If you are travelling to Watford General Hospital on foot, you may like to plan your walk using one of our suggested routes. These are straightforward, clear routes to the Hospital making it easier for wheelchair users or visitors with prams or buggies. Walking from Watford town centre take approximately 15 minutes.

Cycling

We have facilities at all three hospital sites for staff and patients who choose to cycle in. At Watford Hospital, we have dedicated cycle 'hubs', with a shower, bike storage 'pods', a repair stand and bike pump.
