About St Albans City Hospital

We have strict visiting restrictions in place to minimise the risk of visitors bringing infection into our hospitals and to minimise the risk of visitors becoming infected and transmitting the infection to the community.

The Integrated Urgent Care Hub treats urgent but not life-threatening health conditions. It offers appointments between 9am and 6pm, seven days a week and provides access to diagnostic services such as x-rays. Patients are booked into the service, often with same day appointments, through NHS 111 or their GP practice. It is not a walk-in service. Read more about the service at this link.

St Albans City Hospital is the Trust's elective care centre. It provides a wide range of elective care (both inpatient low risk surgery and day-case) and a wide range of outpatient and diagnostic services with in excess of 100,000 outpatient appointments. It has forty beds and six theatres (including one procedure room for ophthalmology).

St Albans City Hospital is on Waverley Road, approximately a mile from the city centre.
