Professional Profile

I attended undergraduate university at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland, USA, and completed my Bachelor of Science degree there in 2003. During my undergraduate career, I had a particular interest in Medicine and Psychology. I then attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2009.

Focused on a love of general medicine, I pursued my training in Internal Medicine through the Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center residency training, which was completed in 2012. During my training, I developed an interest in both respiratory medicine and intensive care. The majority of my training occurred in a large university-led, community-based, teaching hospital in the inner city of Washington, DC.

I worked as a consultant in Internal Medicine at the Washington Hospital Center, working in intensive care and cardiology prior to deciding to move to the UK.

Since joining the respiratory department at Watford General Hospital full-time in June 2015, I have developed a new consultant role within the trust to provide acute respiratory care to our patients in A&E, AAU, and throughout the inpatient wards. This role is designed to assess and treat patients who are admitted with respiratory problems in order to optimise their care earlier in their hospital stay.

I have a particular interest in acute respiratory failure, ventilation, and pleural disease, but I see patients across the full spectrum of respiratory diseases. Additionally, I provide medical advice into our Intensive Care Unit and run an admission prevention clinic.

Personal Profile:

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family and dog, am an avid reader, and enjoy travelling as much as possible, both in the UK and internationally.
