Background

Professional Profile

I qualified as a doctor from the University of Manchester in 2000. After various junior posts in medical specialties, I obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2003 and undertook a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree on characterization and phenotyping of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) at the North West Lung Centre, Manchester. This led to a research award at the European Respiratory Society conference and publications in high profile peer-reviewed journals, including the European Respiratory Journal.

My specialist respiratory training was undertaken in the Cambridge Deanery. I gained a broad experience in all aspects of Adult Respiratory Medicine at specialist units in Papworth and Cambridge. I gained specialist accreditation in Respiratory Medicine from the European Respiratory Society in October 2015 and from the Royal College of Physicians, UK in November 2015.

I was a finalist for the national Quality Improvement Award of the British Thoracic Society in 2013, for my work in service development in lung cancer at Papworth Hospital. I also served as the Chief Registrar in Medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals.

I became a Consultant in West Herts NHS Trust in June 2016. Since then, I have established new pathways in Interstitial Lung Disease evaluation and assessment. I am also the department lead for Audit and for Clinical Research.

Personal Profile

I enjoy painting in my spare time, particularly with watercolour. My other interests include travel, music and dance.
