Background

Professional Profile

Having graduated from Imperial College in 2007, I undertook my Foundation and Core Medical Training within the North West Thames Deanery, where I worked within Hillingdon, Hammersmith, Charing Cross and Ealing Hospitals.

My specialist Respiratory training was undertaken within the South West Thames Deanery, during the course of which I rotated through Epsom, Kingston, St. George’s and the Royal Brompton Hospital. During my training I have been exposed to the breadth of respiratory disease; and have developed my specialist interests in Respiratory Failure, Sleep Disorders, Pleural Disease, Interstitial Lung Disease and Bronchoscopy. I have also successfully delivered presentations at international conferences, authored book chapters, and pursued avenues of research (primarily focusing on the exercise, muscle and ventilatory pathophysiology in patients with COPD).

Procedurally, I have gained Level 2 certification in Pleural Ultrasound. I truly enjoy flexible bronchoscopy, and have experience of EBUS, rigid bronchoscopy, and right heart catherisation studies. I have worked within an HDU and ITU environment at Charing Cross, St. George’s and Royal Brompton Hospitals and enjoy the challenge of managing patients with Respiratory Failure. This is something I look forward to developing further within the Respiratory / Medical HDU at West Herts.

Having spent a year as a Clinical Teaching Fellow, I am also passionate about medical education. I was recently awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. I teach regularly at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and have been involved in curriculum development at Imperial College and St. George’s University of London. I aim to continue to pursue this passion at West Herts.
