Interventional cardiology
This involves the assessment and treatment of ischaemic heart disease by coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty).
Pacing and complex devices
This involves implantation of permanent pacemakers for the treatment of abnormally slow heart rates and more complex devices (implantable defibrillators and biventricular pacemakers) in the treatment of heart failure and life threatening heart rhythm disturbances.
