Background/Profession:
My under-graduation was from Government Medical College, Mysore, India in the year 1988. I obtained my M.D. in Anaesthesia from Mysore University, India in the year 1993. Fellowship in Cardiac Anaesthesia at Southern Railways Headquarters Hospital, Perambur, Chennai, India in the year 1994.
I joined Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute, Porur, Chennai, India in the year 1994 as Assistant Professor in Anaesthesia and Consultant in Cardiac Anaesthesia.
In 1998, I came to the UK and after 23 months of SHO training, I joined the North-West rotation. After obtaining my CCST in Anaesthesia in the month of August 2005, I joined West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as a Consultant in Anaesthesia with a special interest in Critical Care.
Personal Life/Leisure Interests:
I am a founder member of the charity organisation – Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement - in India and was treasurer of this organisation for 3 years (1984-1987). I had the responsibilities of organising free health camps and maintenance of voluntary blood donor register. The organisation runs two hospitals, residential school and vocational training centre for the tribal in a remote tribal area of Mysore (India). Website of our organisation is www.vivekamysore.com
We have registered the U.K. chapter of our charity organisation - Swami Vivekanada Youth Movement of the UK and I have been elected as the President.
Badminton and regular exercise are the two main activities I undertake to keep myself fit.
I have a strong interest in drawing, painting and art.
