Private medical treatment often begins as a result of an NHS appointment with your GP, at which you identify your wish for private treatment.
Your GP will refer you to an appropriate consultant who will see you for a private consultation. The consultant will require a referral letter from your GP before the consultation. You will probably see your consultant at their private clinic.
During your consultation the consultant will advise on the best place to carry out your procedure. West Herts is able to offer complex procedures not available at other hospitals in the region.
