Suggested walking routes to our hospital sites
St Albans City Rail Station to St Albans City Centre - Route 2
This route runs from St Albans City Station to St Albans City Centre and will take approximately 15 minutes. The route joins Walking Route 1 which continues to St Albans City Hospital
St Albans City Station is served by trains on the Thameslink line, between Bedford and Brighton. The service is operated by First Capital Connect. Many buses also serve the train station.
Start the walk outside St Albans City Railway Station.
Exit the station and turn right. Cross the cobbled road here on your left and go up the gentle slope to the main road Victoria Street. You'll pass telephone boxes and a letter box.
At the top of the slope you're now on Victoria Street. Turn right onto the bridge.
Cross the bridge over the railway and carry on down Victoria Street towards the Trinity United Reformed Church. The path slopes gently down here.
Cross at the junction of Victoria Street and Beaconsfield Road. Ahead of you you'll see the Trinity United Reformed Church
Carry on straight along Victoria Street passing shops to your right.
At the busy junction of Victoria Street and Upper Lattimore Road, go straight across using the pedestrian crossing.
Continue up Victoria Street passing Liverpool Road, Upper Marlborough Road and Bricket Road on your right.
At the junction of Victoria Street and St Peter's Street, turn right where this walk joins Walking Route 1 which proceeds to St Albans City Hospital.
