A fascinating variety of displays demonstrating how diseases are identified. A chance to have a go on a microscope and see cells close up. Tips on keeping you heart healthy and examples from healthy and damaged hearts...

Hemel Hempstead Event 17 September 2009 - 'Parenting Teenagers'

A 45 minute talk from 'Youth Talk' with an opportunity to ask questions and discuss. People heard about different strategies for managing teenager behaviour and dealing with stressful situations.

Watford Health Event 14 September & St Albans City Hospital 15 September 2009 - 'Know Your Numbers!'

People called in to get their blood pressure checked  and have an informal chat about ways to make healthy choices and improve their results.

St Albans Health Talk 19 June 2009 - 'Stop Smoking - Kicking the Habit!'

Liz Fisher, Smoking Cessation Manager gave an overview of the risks of smoking and the benefits of giving up, including details of the range of support and help available.

Watford Health Talk Meeting 28 May 2009 - 'Superbugs and You!'

Attendees at the meeting on Thursday 28 May 2009 at Watford General Hospital discovered how to protect their family from illness, and picked up some great tips on how to reduce the spread of infection.

The lively health talk by Frances Stratford, Infection Control Assistant Director for West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust gave an insight into the way the hospital successfully combats infection.

Members were told that the Trust had reduced hospital acquired infections significantly over the last 12 months and how we all had an important part to play in the fight against Superbugs.

There was also a brief update on the Trust's application to become a Foundation Trust later this year.
