Celebrating Excellence Staff Award

Award Winners

June 2016

Winner: Debbie Green, Ward Manager, AAU Red Suite, Watford

Nominated by: Multiple staff

Nomination: Sister Debbie is the greatest manager that a ward could have. As a new starter in this hospital she tried to make me feel comfortable and made a big effort in helping me to adapt. Really kind to all members of the staff and also with all patients and family.

Nomination: I have been working in this hospital as a regular agency nurse for about two years, one of them entirely in this unit (AAU Red Suite) and I can say there is no better place to work in this hospital. Debbie is by far considered amongst all agency staff one of the nicest, loveliest and most hard-working sisters we have ever known. With her positive energy she cheers up everyone in the morning, even when things are difficult and we are short staff. She always helps as much as she can despite having lots of things to do as a ward manager. The reason why all agency staff, like myself, fight to work in this unit is because she makes everyone feel part of a big family. She has always treated me as part of the permanent staff, she has defended, taught me and treated me like part of this family. She definitely goes the extra mile every single day of the year.

Nomination: Debbie is a lovely person. She is very professional and friendly with everyone and she cares a lot for the staff. She is the best with us and she deserves to win.

Nomination: She is the best manager!! I came a few months ago and she treats me like a daughter, helping me all the time, and making me feel like I’m at home. She is a really good person and an excellent manager!

Nomination: Sr Debbie is a kind, helpful and caring manager. She is very fair and understanding. When in difficulty and short of staff, she will stay behind to support staff and make sure the ward is safe. All our staff love her, even agency nurses. She is the best one who knows how to professionally treat her staff without favouritism, so every one feels valued and happy to work for her.

Nomination: She is hard working, always nice to staff, and she is a very professional manager.

Nomination: Very hard working lady. Always thinking about the staff and of the betterment of the ward. She is polite and easy to approach with any problems that arise. Very honoured to work with her.

Nomination: She is just the best. I’ve already said everything great and amazing about her on my last nomination. And I think she really deserves to win this time. There is no one like her. <3

Nomination: Debbie is a really great manager. She is always kind, she encourages everyone to work as a team and she is great to motivate her staff.

She can manage any situation, and she is always really patient with everyone (also with people like me who are from another country). She is really great, always available to help us. I was lucky to come in Red Suite because she is the best ward manager ever! She is the best person to receive the award because she deserves everything!

Nomination: As a ward manager Debbie gives 110% ensuring that her staff are supported and the ward is safely led by a happy team. She is energetic, enthusiastic and always ready to listen and sort out any issues. She comes into work over an hour early and never leaves on time as she goes the extra mile to help. She knows her patients inside out and is very hands on and approachable, always putting her staff and patients first.
