Suggested walking routes to our hospital sites

Start outside the Halifax building Society on the corner of Clarendon Road and the High Street. Buses drop off and pick up either side of this corner. With the Halifax Building Society building on your left hand side, go left and walk along the High Street to the junction of Market Street.

Reaching the junction of High Street and Market Street, with Cote Brasserie directly behind you, (other eating establishments are available), turn right into Market Street.

Carry on along Market Street until you reach the junction with Exchange Road (also known as the ring road). There is a pedestrian crossing here. When it's safe to do so, go straight ahead over the crossing and continue along Market Street.

Carry on along Market Street until you come to the T-junction with Merton Road and Cassio Road. Turn left at the end and head down Merton Road.

Carry on down Merton Road, crossing over St Mary's Road until you reach the traffic lights and pedestrian crossing.

Turn right and cross over the road at the pedestrian crossing into the pedestrianised shopping area. You are now in Vicarage Road.

At the end of the pedestrianised shopping area, there is another pedestrian crossing. Cross Farraline Road here and continue straight along Vicarage Road.

Continue walking along Vicarage Road. Shortly, on your left, you'll pass Watford Football Club's stadium.

Carry on along Vicarage Road past Watford Football Club's stadium, until you reach the main entrance to the Hospital site. Turn left into the site.

If you know the name of the block or area you need to get to, find it on the map of the Watford Hospital site.

You are now on the Watford Hospital Site. The large building to the right is the Women's and Children's Services Wing. Keeping this building to your right, continue walking into the site until you reach the zebra crossing on the road to your right.

Main Block is in front of you. When it's safe to do so, cross the road at the zebra crossing and turn to your left.

You are now outside the Main Block. A few yards on to your right is the main entrance to the the Main Block. Enter the building through the main doors and turn left. The main reception desk is on your right. The receptionist will be able to direct you from here to specific areas of the hospital site.
